General Rules & Regulations

1.1 Eligibility

  • • Open to all players.
  • • Each team must consist of two players (doubles format).

Categories

  • • Men's Open Doubles
  • • Women's League Doubles
  • • A player may only register for one category.
  • • All participants must adhere to the Code of Conduct.

1.2 Code of Conduct

  • • Respect towards referees, opponents, staff, and facilities is mandatory.
  • • Any form of aggression, abuse, or unsporting behavior will result in immediate disqualification.
  • • Players must arrive at least 30 minutes prior to their scheduled match time.

1.3 Attire & Equipment

We request all participants to wear appropriate sports attire that maintains a respectful and comfortable environment for everyone, considering local cultural and social standards. We respect personal choice and aim to promote diversity across all age groups, while also ensuring attire remains suitable for a sporting environment.

Not Allowed

  • • Clothing with offensive language or imagery
  • • Non-sportswear such as jeans, formal wear, sandals, or spike shoes

Equipment

  • • Players are encouraged to bring their own padel bats.
  • • Match balls will be provided by the organizers.

Women's Category

Tournament Details

2.1 Tournament Dates

  • • April 16–18, 2026
  • • Venue: Bashundhara Sports City

2.2 Tournament Structure

Qualification (Men's)

  • • Top 2 teams from each group will advance to the CUP Round of 16.
  • • Bottom 2 teams from each group will advance to the PLATE Round of 16.

Progression (Men's)

  • • Round of 16 → Quarterfinals → Semifinals → Finals (both CUP and PLATE)
  • • Single elimination from Round of 16 onwards — no second chances within the same bracket.

Knockout Bracket (Men's)

Groups are paired adjacently for R16: A+B, C+D, E+F, G+H. Within each pair, 1st of one group meets 2nd of the other. No re-seeding occurs after the group stage.

Women's League Doubles

  • • 6 teams split into 2 groups of 3 — round-robin within each group.
  • • Top 2 teams from each group advance to the Semi-Finals.
  • • Semi-Final 1: 1st Group A vs 2nd Group B  •  Semi-Final 2: 1st Group B vs 2nd Group A
  • • The two SF winners meet in the Final.

Match Format

3.1 Men's Matches

Group Stage and Round of 16

  • • Format: Race to 9 games.
  • • If the score reaches 8–8, a tiebreak (race to 7 points) will be played.

Quarterfinals onward

  • • Format: Best of 3 sets. Each set played to 6 games.
  • • If the score reaches 6–6 in any set, a tiebreak (race to 7 points) will be played.
  • • Golden Point Rule: After the second deuce, golden point will apply.

3.2 Women's Matches

  • • Group Stage and Quarters: Single set, race to 6 games.
  • • Semifinals and Final: Race to 9 games.

3.3 General Match Rules

  • • Scoring follows 15 / 30 / 40 / Game.
  • • After the second deuce, golden point will apply where relevant.
  • • In case of weather interruptions or facility-related issues, the organizing committee reserves the right to adjust match duration or scheduling as necessary.

Service Rules

  • • All serves must be underarm.
  • • The ball must bounce once before being struck.
  • • The ball must be hit at or below waist level.
  • • The server must keep at least one foot on the ground while serving.
  • • The serve must land in the diagonal service box on the opponent's side.
  • • If the ball lands in the correct service box and then hits the side cage first, the serve is out.
  • • If the ball lands in the correct service box and then hits the back glass, the ball remains in play.
  • • Both non-serving players must remain behind their respective service lines until the serve is taken.
  • • Each server is allowed two serves.

Glass Play Rules

Players may use the glass to their advantage in the following ways:

  • • A player may let the ball bounce and then rebound off the glass before returning it.
  • • A player may also hit the ball against their own glass in an attempt to send it onto the opponent's side of the court.

Tournament Policies

6.1 Substitution Policy

  • • Substitutions are allowed only before the start of the tournament.
  • • No mid-tournament substitutions will be permitted unless due to injury or another serious reason.
  • • Any such request must be supported by valid evidence and approved by the organizers.

6.2 Walkover Policy

  • • Any team not present 15 minutes after the official match call will forfeit the match.
  • • Repeated no-shows may result in disqualification from future tournaments organized by the committee.

6.3 Disputes & Appeals

  • • All disputes must be reported immediately after the match.
  • • The decision of the organizing committee shall be final.
  • • During a serve or rally, if both teams are genuinely uncertain whether a ball is in or out, the point will be replayed without further discussion.

6.4 Health & Safety

  • • A first aid kit will be available on-site.
  • • Players participate at their own risk.
  • • The organizers will not be held liable for injuries, accidents, or other health-related incidents during the tournament.

National Ranking Points

8.1 Tournament Tier

Flyers Padel Premier 2026 is a Bronze Tier event on the BD Padel National Rankings circuit. Points earned here contribute to each player's national ranking over a rolling 12-month window.

8.2 Points Breakdown

Points are awarded per player — both members of a team earn the same points based on their finishing position.

Semifinalist (3rd / 4th) 50 pts
Quarterfinalist 25 pts
Participant (all others) 5 pts

For the Men's category, CUP and PLATE brackets are treated separately — the CUP Champion earns Winner points; the PLATE Champion also earns Winner points. Semifinalists and below in both brackets earn points according to their respective finishing round.

8.3 How Rankings Work

  • • Points are tracked on the BD Padel National Rankings platform per individual player.
  • • Only results from the last 12 months count towards a player's live ranking total.
  • • Points will be officially recorded and published after the tournament concludes.
